The Colgate University Debate Society and the Colgate Speaking Union are 
proud to present the first annual Colgate University International 
Debate IV.

More than just a warm-up for US BP Nationals the Colgate IV will be a 
truly international tournament incorporating on top notch debaters and 
adjudicators from around the world. We will strive to ensure that each 
room is staffed by a panel of highly trained judges.

In addition to world class debate the Colgate University Tournament will 
feature a wide range of activities, showcasing Colgate’s fantastic 
University Community.

Overview of the tournament:

48 Team Maximum (15 spots will be reserved for non-North American Teams)

We are pleased to announce that the CA for our tournament is going to be 
Logan Balavijendran (CA at both 2005 & 2011 Worlds).

The Convener will be Colgate's own Austin Schwartz

There will be an initial team cap of 2 teams, 1 judge

Transportation to and from Syracuse International Airport will be 
provided free of charge

The hotel cost will be $98 per night (up to 4 people per room) and will 
be located right in beautiful downtown Hamilton.

Breakfast and Lunch will be provided and we will be negotiating 
discounted dinner rates at the local restaurants.

The registration fee will be $100 per team ($25 per judge)

There will be at least one social with beverages of ALL sorts!

International Teams and those going to the Hobart and William Smith 
Round Robin will be invited to participate in a number of fun activities 
in the surrounding area.

Limited financial assistance will be available
