We use customized IU-22 protocols and measurements that sync to Medstreaming reporting.  We also have extensively customized Medstreaming worksheet and report macros, so we don't have to spend a lot of time scribbling on a piece of paper.  All of the times below are include reporting, clean-up, patient changing time, chart research and actual scan time.

Each of my techs is given one past month of QI to work on each month.  They have a block of four hours to work on it and then they are supposed to work on it over the rest of the month in between patients when they have some down time, so that when their next four hour block comes up four weeks later, they're ready to move onto the next month.  We also take a lot of add-ons, though, so a little wiggle room is nice.  A little down-time in between patients isn't so bad, unless it gets up over 10-15 minutes...that's when we look at alternative tasks, such as deep cleaning a machine or scrolling through the patient database to find incorrectly entered names/MRNs.  We refer to those little 10 minute gaps as "muscle recovery time" when speaking to administration, ha ha.  :)

1-      CAROTID B/L - 30 minutes

2-      B/L LOWER LIMB ARTERIAL DUPLEX with ABI - 60 minutes

3-      U/L LOWER LIMB ARTERIAL DUPLEX with ABI - 45 minutes

4-      AORTO ILIAC DUPLEX – no ABI and no evar/fevar surgery - 45 minutes (same for IVC-iliac)

5-      AORTOILIAC DUPLEX with ABI - we don't do ABIs with our aorto-iliac exams

6-      RENAL ARTERY DUPLEX B/L - 60 minutes (45 for transplant)

7-      LOWER EXTREMITY VEIN MAPPING – No marking for CABG - 30 minutes just for superficial eval/measurements.  30 for DVT, 75 for bilat reflux.

8-      LOWER EXTREMITY VEIN MAPPING – With marking for BPG - outpatient, so we don't mark

9-      UPPER LIMB DIALYSIS VEIN/ARTERY MAPPING B/L - for the MAPPING (arterial, venous and vein mapping) we have 90 minutes.  For the FOLLOW-UP of an existing AVF/AVG 60 minutes.
