Yes, the price of 5000 system has gone down quiet a lot since the iU22 was introduced. You can save quiet a lot since you do not need replace the transducers.

    I have also used both systems (and actually still have both systems) and I agree with Claudia.  I think there are some really good deals around on refurbished 5000's now that the iU22 is out?

    I don't think that the 3000 would be what you are looking for.  Your 
    resolution alone is not comparable to the 3000, let alone the color flow that 
    you see with a 5000....My opinion. I have used both systems  Claudia
