Got this message from the Outing Club listserve, but it applies to the Ski and
Snowboard club, too. The more funding we recieve, the cooler stuff we can do
next year. If anyone has a chance to sign it, its definitely a good idea. (The
OC house is right next to Dewey, tucked back a little along the drive way)

Subject: SGA funding and student activites fee
To: [log in to unmask]
Hey Outing Club Folks,
As some of you may or may not know, a total of $104 from your tuition every
year
goes towards the Student Activities Fee. This fee goes towards SGA's budget,
which is divided between all of the SGA clubs and organizations on campus. So,
basically this is the way we get the money we need from SGA to run the Outing
Club. Last year, SGA suffered from a 4% budget cut. They are now proposing to
raise the Student Activities Fee by $7/semester to make a total of
$59/semester. This would make up for the 4% cut from last year. If this
passes, SGA's budget would increase by about $112,000, therefore increasing
every club's funding allocation. This is a great proposal that would benefit
the Outing Club and any other club you are involved with. The way I see it is
that I pay only $14 more a year and every club on campus is better off.
I will have a petition to sign in support of this proposal at Club Council
tonight (6:15pm at the OC House, all are welcome and encouraged to come!) If
you can't make it, I will be posting the petition in the OC House, so just come
by some time and sign it. This is all due the week after spring break, so come
as soon as you can!
Thanks,
Ally Keefe
OC Treasurer
