RE: Suspect apprehended in connection with UVM property damage
I write to let you know that UVM Police Services identified and arrested a suspect in connection with a recent spate of graffiti on campus. While the investigation is still underway, the officers have reason to suspect that this person is responsible for dozens of acts of vandalism to our buildings and other property. Notably, the suspect is not affiliated with UVM.
Many students, faculty, and staff have been involved in reporting these incidents and have expressed their concerns about the graffiti. We are very grateful to those who reported the vandalism as this is our shared space, and we all have an important role to play in stopping this destructive and illegal behavior.
My thanks to UVM Police Services for all their efforts to keep our people and our campus safe.
