Dear UVM community,

I write with a heavy heart to share with you that Julia B. Miller, a
Psychology major in the College of Arts and Sciences, passed away on
January 19, 2022 in Austin, MA. Though she had been away from UVM for
some time, she was a valued member of our community and her loss is felt
deeply by those who knew and loved her. Thoughts of care and comfort go
out to her family, friends, classmates, faculty, and staff.

In her time at UVM, Julia was an active member of the Wellness
Environment and made a lasting impression on many. Her passion for the
environment, and her deep commitment to justice and equity was evident
to all who knew her.

Grief impacts us differently, and our ability to support each other and
allow others to support us can help us process our losses. Many of us
may need to reach out for additional help; if you, or someone you know,
are in need of professional counseling please do not hesitate to contact
UVM’s Counseling and Psychiatry Services at (802) 656-3340 (for
students) or Invest EAP at (802) 864-EAPØ (3270) or toll free at
1-866-660-9533 (for employee assistance).

Sincerely,

Erica
