DURHAM, N.H. - Lindsey Hansen scored once and handed out two assists
to lead the New Hampshire Wildcats past Vermont, 6-1, in a
non-conference women's hockey game.

The Wildcats opened the game with a goal at 4:18 of the first period
by Janine Goulet.  Teammate Sadie Wright-Ward put UNH up 2-0 at the
15:44 mark and would take the 2-0 advantage into the first
intermission.

In the second period, UNH again added a goal in the opening and
closing minutes of the stanza to take a 4-0 lead after two periods.

UNH's lead grew to five on a power-play goal by Martina Garland at
1:02 of the third period.  Vermont ruined New Hampshire's shutout
when Kate Hudspeth (Burlington, Vt.) scored off assists from Kristen
Norris (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.) and Kattie Anderson (Naperville,
Ill.) at the 7:04 mark.  Hansen closed out the scoring at 8:36 for
the final score, 6-1.

Melissa Bourdon picked up the win in the New Hampshire net with 11
stops.  Kami Cote (Copperton, Utah) made 34 saves and Katie Nichols
(Milton, Vt.) added seven stops in the Vermont net.

Vermont falls to 3-10-1 overall, while New Hampshire improves 7-4-2
on the season.  The Catamounts will take nearly a month off for final
exams and the holiday break.  They return to action on January 2nd
and 3rd when they host Quinnipiac.
