It has been a slightly different year at our feeders. Now that a Red-bellied is a regular/intermittant visitor I just assumed the large woodpecker I kept catching in the corner of my eye was he. This morning while brewing my coffee a Northern Flicker joined the crowd by the feeder. I believe I remember someone else had one around not too long ago. We’ve never had Titmice stay all winter and I don’t remember White-throats around this time of year either. We get occasional Brown Creepers but again this year a pair of them are regular visitors. Flicker is in the feeder right now, I just put out fresh suet but it only seems interested in the black oil for now. This is also the first year in probably 1/2 dozen that the Redpolls have come back to visit. I think this is going to be a fun year.
