adult.

streaking, green sheen in wings and rump. No wing-bars.

Red Crossbill  2     Observed 2 "chunky" birds at the top of dead tamarack.  
Initial impression they were waxwings warming in morning sun but scope revealed 
birds to have well arched upper mandibles, dark coloration, no wing-bars and 
well notched tails.
