The Yellow-bellied Sapsucker that I have seen periodically here at home
on Snake Mountain, Cornwall since early December made another appearance
this morning. I've not seen it at or near the feeders for several
weeks. It appears to roost in Yew shrubs by the house. The most typical
location where seen is on tree trunks gleaning, not drilling. A
favorite is a dead Butternut which is slowly losing its bark.
