Greetings, VTBIRDers:

A few folks have asked me about the NEXRAD imagery I mentioned in my
recent blog post about foul-weather birding. I've updated the post with
better radar links:
http://bryanpfeiffer.com/2013/05/22/the-forecast-calls-for-birds/

The post now includes a loop showing what are most likely birds taking
off into migration the night before Ruth and I encountered 74 species
during a late-morning walk at Berlin Pond on May 21. I don't claim to
have much expertise on radar. But in the post watch the May 20 video for
the blue cloud-like eruptions that start at about 9pm Eastern Standard
Time. Very cool.

Best,
Bryan Pfeiffer
