After reading Michael Lester's post yesterday about the
canvasback/redheads he'd spotted at crown point, I decided to take a
trip out there this morning to see if they were still around. Sure
enough, they were there, mixed in with a flock of Mallards and Common
Goldeneye. They were in fact Canvasbacks. I was there at 9:00 this
morning, and they were closer to the southern end of the open water to
the south of the ferry and were easy to pick out from the rest of the
ducks.
