About 8 AM: Lots of activity with everyone in breeding plumage. Saw a dozen or so ring-
necked ducks who have been hanging there for some time. Two pairs of hooded
mergansers, a pair of Common loons, two pair of Bufflehead, a lonely pied-billed female
grebe, and hundreds of swirling tree swallows. Gusty north winds made the south end of
pond pretty rough and barren.
