I am new to the list, a Maryland birder coming to VT in search of Bicknell's Thrush. I would greatly appreciate any tips you can share on hearing/seeing Bicknell's Thrush. Gleanings from ebird and Maryland birders point me toward Mt. Mansfield. I am admittedly a bit confused about hours/access to the Mansfield toll road etc.
I never play tapes to lure in birds, and I don't take photographs. I just make sketches of new life birds.
Arriving in Burlington Friday 5/31/13 6:00 pm and departing Burlington at 5:30 am Monday 6/3/13. will have my own rental vehicle. happy to pay a guide. I realize this is early in the season but I gotta work other days.
I recall the VINS youth teams and their leaders were awesome competitors at the Great Texas Birding Classic and World Series of Birding when I led the Maryland Ornithological Society / Pronatura Veracruz / Eagle Optics Holy Order of Loggerhead Shrikes teams quite a few years ago - any of y'all out there?
Reply offline is fine too:
Thanks in advance and good birding!
