This morining while walking my dog near my house I saw a Merlin being mobbed by a group of Blue Jays. It was at the top of a stand of tall pine trees and would take off and swoop at the Jays then land again on a different perch. The Jays would then close in around it again after which it would repeat the process. This happened at leas ten times before the Merlin few off to the west out of sight.
