Yesterday and today I donned my snowshoes and struck off for a walk up
through the meadows and woods with my binoculars at the ready. Pretty
much the same cast of characters on both afternoons ....... a flock of
about 25 Cedar Waxwings a flock of about 35 Robins all feeding on
the bittersweet at the edge of the meadow. A little further into the
wood was a female Hairy Woodpecker working pretty hard at a dead tree.
A couple of White Breasted Nuthatches and a few Chickadees here and
there in the woods. As I was heading home throught the meadow a flock
of 5 Bluebirds flew right over head ....... today only.
