Just after noon today I pulled over on Route 7 in Charlotte (between the tack shop and what used to be the VT Wildflower Farm) to look at what I expected to be a dark Rough-legged Hawk. Instead, it appears to be a dark morph Red-tailed Hawk, which I've never encountered in Vermont before. It seems to me there was such a bird in Washington County a few years ago?
