John Chamberlain and I did our Birdathon for Otter Creek Audubon from 10 am
yesterday to 10 am this morning. Fortunately for us, Eric Hynes and Ian
Worley joined in to guide us through property along southern Snake Mountain.
No Cerulean, but Eric picked out the "pizza" call of the Acadian Flycatcher
and attempted to record it with a Rose-breasted Grosbeak and a Black-billed
Cuckoo competing for center stage.
Afterwards I offered to show Eric where I had seen the Upland Sandpiper just
2 days ago, so he followed us down to Lemon Fair Road, we stopped where the
bird should have been, and Eric stepped out of his car and found not one but
two Uplands. So very glad they are back.
A beautiful day was had by all.
