Lake Bomoseen-Castleton (2360 acres), Rutland, US-VT

Protocol: Stationary
Comments:     North and  south channels frozen.  Ice fishing north of Grady 
Bridge.   Temperature 29-31 degrees F.  Observations made from 8 stations 
around the  lake.

Hooded  Merganser  112     Observer does not know what attracts  these 
large numbers of Hooded Merganser to the lake in late fall / early  winter.
