I am currently in the process of moving to Vermont from across Lake
Champlain, and am very excited about starting to bird more on this
side of the Champlain Valley. As luck would have it, though, I had
to leave town late last week, just as things were starting to get
interesting here. While it is a small consolation for missing record
numbers of kittiwakes and jaegers on the lake, I did enjoy seeing two
COMMON NIGHTHAWKS migrating southward over Rt. 7 just north of
Brandon last Thursday, September 9. Has anybody else seen any
nighthawks this "fall?"

Good birding,
