Yesterday's combination of low water and inclement weather produced some nice shorebird fall out on the Connecticut River in Norwich. This is an all too rare occurrence in e. VT, and it had local birders out in droves.
Best concentration was on the flats below Ledyard Bridge:
20 Semipalmated Plover
5 Dunlin
32 Semipalmated Sandpiper
2 Least Sandpiper
1 Solitary Sandpiper
All were gone by this morning.
