I know that we don't typically share customer experiences on this site, but
I feel I should tell this story. So if the site moderator lets this go,
here it is.
First day out on a ten day birding trip to Monhegan Island, Maine, my five
year-old Vortex scope literally came apart in my hands. More than a little
disappointed, I left the trail and called the company.
Through spotty island cell service that required several reconnections, I
spoke with someone in customer care who saw that I had already returned the
scope once before for repair of the same problem.
In consideration of that fact and that I was in the midst of a trip, they
offered to overnight ship a new replacement scope to me.
The new scope arrived as promised (delivery took an extra day due to the
requirements of ferry service to the Island) and I was back out viewing
shorebirds, sea ducks, seals and a perplexing array of gulls.
