The merry Christmas Eve feast at my bird feeders this AM was disrupted
by a female Cooper's Hawk in stealth attack mode. As I was watching
the feeder birds (Blue Jays, Cardinals, Am. Goldfinches, House
Finches, Black-capped Chickadees), the Coop made its ground-hugging
sweep across the yard, rising up only at the last second to attack
from below! The hunt did appear to be successful, though I am not
sure what species the victim was. Christmas Peace and Joy to the
survivors.

Scott
