I just caught a house sparrow kill a mother tree swallow in her nest box that has 5 young in it. I saw the sparrow go in the box to kill the young so I ran out, put my hand over the hole, opened the side and grabbed the male sparrow. Needless to say he is gone from this world. Now the male is sitting on the box but I see no feeding going on. What if anything should I do? The young are about a week old. Will the male raise them?
