About 7:15 PM we experienenced an event we couldn't even have imagined.
A male and female Evening grosbeak alit on the tube feeder on the South side 
of our house. That was exciting enough, since we only see, or hear, them a 
few times a year.
But then they were joined by a juvenile, at the peak of the "shepard's hook" 
feeder support, and the female began feeding the juvenile. Shortly thereafter, 
they were joined by a second juvenile, which the female also fed. A few 
seconds later, the male flew to the top of the hook and fed the second 
juvenile.
Several minutes afterwards the North tube feeder was occupied by three
juvenile Rose-breasted grosbeaks.
We were busy in the garden most of the day, so Lord knows what was going 
on at the feeders earlier.
