Prepared with high-water boots, five members of Rutland County Audubon successfully navigated the Pomainville WMA, which is mostly flooded, in Pittsford this morning. Twenty-seven species were tallied. This completes one year of monitoring with a total of 98 species for RCAS.
Highlights included a drumming Ruffed Grouse, a Northern Flicker, two Eastern Phoebes, and 11 singing Song Sparrows. Ring-billed Gull was new to the list.
