If anyone wants see some mediocre photos, my checklist from this afternoon is here: https://ebird.org/vt/view/checklist/S54085043

Slaty-backed seems like the best fit, but I am hesitant to make the call on such a rare bird. Would be curious if anyone else has opinions, or can re-find it!

Good luck to those in the area!
Spencer

It took off and disappeared to the north a moment ago, but there are lots of gulls around and minimal open water so perhaps it will return. I have some video and photos, and will post again if I can confirm the ID when I get back to field guides and the computer.
