The beavers have rebuilt their dam on the marsh near where I live (in Beaver
Meadow, Norwich), and the birds are appreciating deeper waters this year.
Sorry for the late reports-have been away, etc.
On 4/6 there was still ice on the ponds. Saw 2 male and 2 or 3 Hooded
Mergansers, several mallards and a GBH.
On 4/29, a male Wood Duck landed and swam around for a bit.
On 5/2 I heard an unfamiliar song, and found an Eastern Towhee- a first for
me. Very exciting!
