For the past few weeks (including today) I have consistently observed both
green and black-crowned night herons in the marsh south of Cheesefactory
Road/Hinesburg Road in Williston/South Burlington. The resident great white egret
has occasionally put in an appearance, also. In addition there are usually
two families of mallards and wood ducks cruising the marsh and an occasional
red-tail hawk soaring overhead.
