Yesterday it was the birds of winter, 30+ Bohemian Waxwings, that grabbed my attention in the yard. Today it’s the konk a ree of arriving Red-winged Blackbirds. What a difference a day makes!

Took a quick walk this evening by a farm near our house. I was happily surprised to see some signs of Spring:

Northern Harrier  1M
Killdeer  3

Enjoy the warmer weather,

Had my first of year kingfisher on the upper white river in Granville VT
yesterday (Wednesday). Lots of snow and ice, but apparently enough open
water...also is barred owls, 1 in a tree on 117 in Essex, one on a pole in
Rochester.

I have not had binoculars with me, but they look like Goldeneye from a distanceand I believe there was an eagle on the edge of the ice yesterday. There were hundreds of ducks in the small section of open water.
Ongoing bridge construction means that you need to park and walka way to see what is out there, except possibly on Sundays when theyare not working.
