Hi from Hinesburg -- We have at least?seven juncos who have been feeding on the ground?and today I observed three redpoll males and two females?at the feeder much of the day.? The crows continue to come close and eat off of the ground.

We have the spring arrivals too. white-throated, white-crowned, chipping, and song sparrows. The goldfinches are the color of daffodils. Robins hopping around in the flower garden.

Yesterday the barred owl perched very close to the house and feeder area.? He did not scare away easily.? Quite a bold fellow.

Anyone have thoughts on that cardinal.? I got a photo today that I hope to download and send tomorrow.? Kay and Robert

In addition to a nice group of white-throated, white-crowned and chipping sparrows under the feeders, I've also still got at least two juncos. Since my elevation is around 300 feet, I'm puzzled why they would still be here. They couldn't be planning to nest here in the lowlands, could they??
