Today at Shelburne Bay there was a dabbling duck that was the size and general shape of a mallard, with white on both sides of its neck extending onto the head and a mostly white belly. The neck looked oddly long at some times (like a Pintail) but not at other times. The rest of the bird was brownish. I never saw any flash of color anywhere.
The lovely gray Willet was still there, feeding placidly with four Killdeer.
