At 10:35 flight 309 took to the air tootling a goodbye and headed roughly 220 degrees (sw) with a purposeful strong flight, gaining altitude steadily. Prior to this the bird was observed by several excited birders as it strutted about the field and then appeared to be feeding in the ditch line.
I returned south via West St. looking in the fields but did not see the bird so perhaps it has finally realized there are no prospects for romance here and will be heading to greener pastures..
