I’m on my 3rd 40 lb bag of black oil seed and my 2nd 40lb bag of mixed seed here in Brandon.
I did have a gang of house sparrows arrive but a recent strafing run by a Cooper’s seems to have dismissed them!

But now they’re back in numbers, requiring an extra trip to Guy’s Farm and Yard for hulled sunflower seed. We’ve got 30-60 Common Redpolls, Mourning Doves, chickadees, titmice, Hairy and Downy woodpeckers, Blue Jays, starlings, White-breasted and Red-breasted Nuthatches (the latter isn’t common here), and an occasional Dark-eyed Junco.

Hardly any finches on black oil or thistle. This time of year I can (usually) barely keep up with the feeders. This year, I have not had to replace a 40# bad of black oil since November! Very strange. Perhaps they’ve all gone to South Hero! :-)
