The North Branch Nature Center sponsored walk at the Cow Pasture in Barre
this morning produced some great birds. Highlights included 3 Field Sparrows
(uncommon in central VT), Nashville Warbler, Indigo Bunting, Merlin and a
Peregrine Falcon.
The Peregrine was seen near the road by Hope Cemetery and the Merlin was a
calling female, possibly nesting in the area?
Our next bird walk will be at the North Branch Nature Center in Montpelier
on Friday, May 30, 7am.
Best, Chip
