This morning I toured the fields in which the ducks and geese usually
feed, and then the roost site itself:
Canadas 315
Ring-necked ducks 90
Green-winged teal 40
Black duck 20
Mallard 20
Bufflehead 1
Mute swan 2
Looks like the great majority of the birds have now moved on. The
daytime roost (what there is of it) is now a half mile further upriver
at the Hinsdale Setbacks.
In the River Road fields there were 140 horned larks.
