Monday and Tuesday this week, while walking 2 Green Mountain Forest Roads in Southwestern Vt I found quite unexpectedly 3 Early Hairstreaks.
All were female, 2 in good shape and 1 quite worn. They were seen at the same time of day in both spots between
11:45 and 12:00.
All other species seem to be late. Only a few Arctic Skippers, few if any White Admiral/Red Spotted Purples, no
Pepper and Salt Skippers.
