Alan arranged a meeting for me with Martha Heath who he has selected as
our best bet to initiate action in respect to making some interim high
sp.ed. cost relief money available.  She indicated that she would take
our proposal and chat with Dennis Kane.  Alan will stay in touch and
report progress.  Alan has also set the wheels in motion to get us a
meeting with the new education commissioner in March where we will make
a pitch for the long term solution we have proposed.  Alan recommends
that not more than two of the board attend this meeting.  That we make a
cold pitch, and then submit a copy of our proposal when we leave.  Alan
does not recommend that we try and get the commissioner to read the
proposal before the meeting.
