Fox News at 10 PM in the Boston area (Channel 25) had highly biased coverage
of the demonstration. The people in the demonstration shown with soundbites
were the most countercultural and grungy (sp?) of the demonstrators, with
half-grown beards, lots of face jewelry and zits or with bizarre masks. This
was "balanced" by a story about a couple with a child with an extremely rare
(genetic?) disease which is presently uncurable. The couple desparately
hopes scientists will save their child and doesn't care who profits from the
research. The chances of such scientific discoveries on this little
understood disease before the child dies were not given by Fox.

<< Those of you in Boston (and maybe some folks outside of Boston) have heard
of the Boidevastation 2000 conference that just ended here. And it did end
with a bang of a rally.
Well, after a week of news reporters asking each other if this will cause as
much property damage as the WTO protests, we finally got a very tiny bit of
positive coverage. Of course, being writtne for the Glob, it still doesn't
address the real issues.
