The answer to the first part of the question about the last towns to receive
electric and telephone service was not as hard as I had made it out to be.
Victory and Granby were the last towns in Vermont to receive electricity in
November 1963 (they share the distinction, as far as I can tell). See A
VERMONT CENTURY, p. 133. This source does not give the month, just the
year. The month of November is given in THRU THE WOODS, DOWN THE RIVER,
OVER THE HILL, GRANBY, VT, published by the town in 1990.
We're still working on the telephone service part of that question...
