ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
To provide programming, analysis and technical support for the
institution's world wide web infrastructure. Design and implement
web-based software solutions; design, develop and deploy modifications and
extension to existing web applications; and support the web team and other
department staff with application solutions, training and design guidance.
Contribute to development and integration of new tools and methodologies,
with supervision from the Vice Provost for Learning and Information
Technology.

Participate as a member of the University Web Team. Make decisions on
design, structure and contenct of projects and applications.
Perform information system and business analysis and programming. Design
processes, procedures and methods for implemementing modifications or
extensions to existing web applications. Plan prioritize and schedule
delivery of multiple and concurrent projects with clients and
coworkers. Produce documentation of procedures and policies.
Write programs and command procedures to implement designed
enhancements. Diagnose and correct problems and deficiencies in existing
web infrastructure.
Provide direct support to other web developers.
Assist in the departmental and University planning efforts related to
information technology. Develop time lines and estimate resources
necessary for project/task completion.
Provide functional supervision to student employees.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and four to five
years of related programming experience to include one year in developing
advanced web applications, RDBMS and online systems, or an equivalent
combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge
and abilities can be acquired. Effective written and oral communication
skills and demonstrated expertise with some of the following
tools/environments: CGI (perl, C, C++, php, ASP scripts, Apache Web
server, Javascript, RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL) and other web technologies.
Strong Unix knowledge required. Experience with higher education
applications and Windows NT/2000 web-development environment highly
desirable.
*If a sufficiently qualified pool of applicants is not obtained at this
level, candidates may be considered at Project Analyst II, Range 13, with
required qualifications of Bachelor's degree in related field and two to
three years programming experience required.
