What's with the caps?? I am saying that in our hospital, the Radiology US
department is accredited with ACR and the ACR stipulation is that anyone
performing abdominal or OB ultrasound is required to be credentialed in that
field. The current supervisor is faced with losing two full-time employees
because their year to pass their boards is coming up. Is this good or not??
The accreditation standards are there for a reason. To provide nursing care,
you have to be an LPN or an RN. I feel the Vascular profession should follow
suit. Sure some people are going to be put out but maybe other places they
will get the quality test they are paying for; and they may be paying for
more than they know with APCs and ABNs on board. Personally, I feel the
credentials should go with the job.
