WEB-BASED EDUCATION REPORT AVAILABLE
This afternoon in Washington, DC, Senator Bob Kerrey of Nebraska, chair
of the Congressionally-authorized Web-Based Education Commission, and
Georgia Representative Johnny Isakson, vice chair, released their
report, "The Power of the Internet for Learning: Moving from Promise to
Practice." The report includes findings and recommendations for the new
Administration and the107th Congress. Among its recommendations, the
report urges leaders to provide additional support for training and
support for educators and administrators at all levels; a new research
and development framework around learning in the Internet age; and the
development of quality online educational content; new regulations that

VIRTUAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDY
The multi-year project carried out by SRI International's Center for
Technology in Learning which involved an assessment of online courses
has produced a report. The report, "The Online Course Experience:
Evaluation of the Virtual High school's Third year Implementation,
