Hi everyone!My greetings!
The ongoing discussion about DVT/PE encourages me to speak out my opinion.I
have found only a weak corelation between DVT diagnosed on duplex and
PE.Mostly it is the clinical scenario which ultimately decides whether a
patient is likely to have PE (and also whether to ignore the venous duplex
findings). However, future events can be prevented if treatment is guided by
venous duplex findings(like the site of thrombus, organisation ,freshness
Plus there is always the question of a "competent duplex exam" in
the emergency settings usually associated with a probable PE.But,everything
counted, sometimes a positive venous duplex is the only clue we have towards
a lifesaving diagnosis.
I wonder how many of us can demand (and get)an ideal position of
the patient for the test in this setting?Opinion of the group shall be
