I am sending this query in hopes of surveying your expertise the computer
hardware area. I am always being asked for recommendations for "what
computer should I buy?". These questions are coming from the public,
students and staff. Since we are trying so hard to make the computer an
attractive and easy means of getting the information which we are working so
hard to deliver, I am also anxious to recommend a computer which is
economical, attractive and easy to use -- also serviceable.

We all know the basics we would be looking for in terms of speed, ram and
memory -- I am really looking for the brand names that you would recommend
and why.

I would be so grateful for your suggestions and I will also be glad to
summarize.
