Hi Bob
What happened is curious. The poster IS subscribed and has been since
12 Aug 1998. So the posting was accepted. Maybe James Wah DID send this
posting, but maybe
someone forged his address. Your subscription setting is
Subscription= Open,Confirm
so anyone can join provided they can send the comfirmation message back.
Once on, they can review the list and collect a bunch of email addresses.
That seems like a lot of work for someone to do just to get an
advertisement out to one list. But maybe it happened. I can't tell for
sure.
We can "privatize" you list further, as I outlined in an earlier message,
if you want. If we assume someone has your subscirbers email addresses,
then the next step might be to make the list moderated - that is, you
would see and approve/disapprove each posting.
You also might contact James Wah and ask him if he sent this message.
If so, then the problem is confined to one person.
John
