Here is a summary of the information regarding CINAHL tutorials. http://www.mc.duke.edu/mclibrary/respub/guides/ovidcin.html Duke has a great site for tutorials. I use their OVID tutorial and the CINAHL is pretty good. The thing I did not like about this is that it is not as interactive as the OVID tutorial. This is a good tutorial. It also got good reviewers from the submitter. Monash U has a nice online, basic guide: http://www.lib.monash.edu.au/vl/cinahl/cincon.htm http://www.mco.edu/lib/education/format.html#help sheets Comes with good recommendations http://www.nyu.edu/library/bobst/info/instruct/Nursing/beginners.htm. The CINHAL tutorial is on PowerPoint and can be accessed directly from http://library.med.nyu.edu/tutorials/nursing/ One video was mentioned twice. My best intro is a video done by the CINAHL company called "See the cites with Cinahl". It is generic so it does not matter what vendor you access Cinahl through online. [log in to unmask] She sent me a really GOOD presentation on CINAHL through OVID. I will definitely being using some of the ideas from that. I was not going to cover EBM at all in this session, but here are some answers that I got on that topic. It might be useful for future use. Katie Nesbitt has done a great guide (for advanced practice nurses) on EBM filters for searching CINAHL on Ovid: http://www.urmc.rochester.edu/Miner/Educ/ebnfilt.htm The Edward G. Miner library at the U of Rochester Med Center produced: Evidence-based Filters for Ovid CINAHL Searches http://www.urmc.rochester.edu/Miner/Educ/ebnfilt.htm Also, the University of York maintains the website: search strategy for reviews and meta-analyses in MEDLINE and CINAHL http://www.york.ac.uk/inst/crd/search.htm good nursing resources on the Net www.mohawkc.on.ca/dept/library/brain/health_sciences.htm http://www.corhealth.com). http://nursing.medscape.com/ http://www.nursingcenter.com http://www.springnet.com/np/npract.htm http://www.nursesworld.com http://www.wwnurse.com/ http://www.cybernurse.com/ http://healthweb.org) The Northern Wisconsin AHEC website has an excellent one page "cheat sheet" for CINAHL: http://dwave.net/~nahec/whenet/cinahl.pdf Karen Assar, MLS 1731 E. 120th St. Los Angeles CA 90050 [log in to unmask] www.cdrewu.edu/kdhsl
