VITA-Learn and VISMT ANNOUNCE
"VermontFest 2001" - Vermont's largest Educational Technology Conference -
will be held on November 1 and 2 at the Killington Grand Hotel in
Killington, VT. This major CHANGE IN VENUE provides far more space for
workshops, greater flexibility and room for more vendors, and opens the door
to greater student involvement. This first change in location in 14 years
will allow for the best conference ever!
AT THIS TIME we are looking for nominations of teachers, pre-service
teachers or students, and other staff who have something to share regarding
their use of educational technology (All presenters receive a stipend for
their efforts). Many times the best integration of technology is "invisible"
because the lesson/unit focuses on learning and standards with technology
functioning as the "tool" to allow the learning to happen. THIS is the kind
of presentation needed to help Vermont's educators - those currently
teaching or preparing to do so - clearly understand how they can best use
information technology resources to improve learning. Please forward the
names and e-mail address (or phone #) of potential presenters to: Tamera
Pariseau, Associate Director of VITA-Learn, at [log in to unmask]
(802-828-0074).
Please forward this message to individuals and groups in your
school/district or department who are interested in teaching and learning.
Since VermontFest focuses on integration aspects of information technology,
all staff need to know about VermontFest, not just the "tech folks".
So mark your calendars now - and plan on attending and/or supporting this
Vermont event by encouraging your staff members to present at VermontFest
2001.
Thanks -
Bill Romond, Chair
