Hey Folks-
Greetings all. Want to clear up an oversight on my part. While I
had checked to confirm availability for Tim's slideshow in January, I
overlooked the paperwork. We are unfortunately shifting Tim's slideshow
from the CC Theater at 7pm to the Fleming Museum Theater 101 (please use
the western entrance on ground level) instead. Please spread the word to
anyone planning on attending.
If you were to arrive at CC tonight you would be seeing another
worthwhile discussion "War and Resistance: Another World is Possible,"
International Socialist Review National Anti-War Tour." Please see Tim's
information below. Apologies for the confusion, hope to see you all
there....

>Tim Leach, a 1999 geology graduate of Bates College, completed a
>fact-gathering expedition in Alaska this summer to study the issues
>surrounding the proposed oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife
>Refuge (ANWR). During his fieldwork he was able to record interviews from
>area citizens, indigenous peoples and scientists on both the proposed
>drilling and wilderness designation for ANWR and the possible explicit and
>latent ramifications of commercial activity in the area. In light of the
>current debate on oil exploration in ANWR, Mr. Leach is utilizing his
>experience on the North Slope to bring greater attention and stimulate
>wider public discussion of the several perspectives on permitting drilling
>in the area.
