Mike:
I was wondering if you might want your own "virtual server" for
banner.
Advantages:
-Load balancing... banner could be migrated to a different cluster node
if the "share" volume is under heavy load for improved performance.
-Portability... banner could be moved to a stand-alone server for
improved performance of both Gemini and Banner.
I have about 4 Gb of unpartitioned space on Gemini. I could create a
virtual server with this if you think it would be a benefit.

Hello --
UVM's Banner Student Information System (SIS) will be unavailable for
several hours on
Monday evening, March 25, 2002,
from 5pm to midnight
while an upgrade (Finaid 5.4) is being applied.
This will affect all forms of access to the student information
system:
[] Web access for the UVM Course Catalog.
This includes the course lookup feature found by
going
to the UVM home page and choosing "Academics",
then "General Course Catalog";
[] Web access for course info, class lists, schedules,
policies.
This includes many items on the Registrar's web
pages,
found by going to the UVM home page and choosing
"Administration", then "Offices and Services", then
"Registrar's Office"; or by going to:
http://registrar.uvm.edu
[] Web access to the FRS Query, Bullseye and Line
Management
System applications.
[] Telnet or dial-in to giraffe for Banner SIS .
Touch-tone registration and Web course registration are not active at
this
time in the semester.
Please direct questions to the CIT Help Line, [log in to unmask] or
656-2604. As usual, once Banner SIS is again available, usage and PIN
questions should be directed to the Registrar's Office,
[log in to unmask] or 656-2045.
